July Beekeeping Field Day and Potluck- July 15th.

If you havent been to a field-day yet, well you should! It is a great opportunity to connect with other beekeepers, ask questions, and do an assisted hive inspection see some unique scenarios with bees in mind. The next field-day is set for July 15th, 2012. Here is the info:

A.B.C’s Beekeeping Field Day

At The AREA: 1119 10th Ave SE Calgary

Sunday, July 15th, 12-4pm

Bring $15 and a potluck item

Bring beekeeping protective equipment that you would like to use.

What is A.B.C?

A.B.C focuses on the development of urban beekeeping through educational events and programming in Calgary Alberta. Working with other community initiatives, A.B.C has brought 28 new beehives to the city this past year, Certified 110 Level One Beekeepers, brought 40 urbanites to the Bownesian Urban Permaculture Project, and worked with the University of Calgary Department of Science, Entymology at the Calgary Folk Music Festival! Our goal is to bring urbanites back to their yards and become participants in the urban ecology again!
